Before the call
💡 What to know before you call
The Children and Families Agency's nursery infection guideline says it's best to keep a child home (を) if they had a fever of 38°C or higher within the past 24 hours, used fever medicine, or woke with over 37.5°C plus low energy / poor appetite. Many Tokyo daycares also prefer absence notices through their parent app (e.g. コドモン) when they have one — phone only if the app isn't set up.
